Wanderlust 108
In August 2017 I started as Assistant Creative Producer on the Wanderlust 108 festival. This is a mindfulness festival that was making its debut in the UK. It was started in the US and this year has begun to travel further around the world. This year it was based in London's Victoria Park.
Because it is it's first year here, everything within the park needed designing and making, so it was a big job for a month!
My main job was to organise the branding within the park. Any signage needed to be organised, designed and printed. Luckily, much of the art work for this was available from past festivals in the US, however all of it needed editing, for which I was asked to do. I then had to organise for it to be printed and delivered to site.
Alongside this, I was given plenty of creative input, including being able to design one of the park's biggest features.
Below are some photos from the day of the festival... Enjoy!

This was the Kula Market Entrance. This was my design, which I took from the festival's logo- a compass. Halved, it became an archway, and therefore perfect for this purpose. It became the park's most "instagrammable" feature.

The entrance sign to the True North Cafe... The Lettering was CNC cut, with "hosted by...." hand painted on, and the Bel-Air/Wanderlust lock-up logo created as a sticker.

The True North Cafe and its "grounds." A pond was created to be the centre of the True North Cafe's "grounds." This also reflected the festival's compass logo.

The seating for the True North Cafe was built from pallet wood- a serious challenge to paint, as it turned out!

The True North Cafe interior... We built this by hiring a range of bars from various furniture hire companies. We then built and decorated it with items that reflected the company... Plants, cacti etc...The pineapple is a key logo for Bel-Air (the company hosting the cafe) so we tried to incorporate this as far as possible!

An example of branding used within the cafe... It needed to be clear, but also sit with the rest of the feel of the place.

In certain places around the park, schedules and maps needed to be placed. We had the signage printed and then built frames for them.

The map was created by a 3D graphics artist. Once completed, I was asked to add the titles and key to the map, and send it off to print.

The main stage itself required it's own branding too, which I needed to organise. We were provided with artwork for this, however the stage sizing was then changed, so the branding needed to change also. Therefore, through working closely with the printing company, we had the artwork edited to our requirements and printed.
One of the biggest parts of my job was creating and getting printed the signage to go in A-Frames around the park. These included directional signs and information signs. There were a LOT of these... We then built and painted the frames for them to go into.
